Cooperation with major embedded systems vendor for IoT announced

On MWC 2015 acticom announced a cooperation between acticom and a major embedded systems vendor for wireless sensor networks. Part of the cooperation is the integration of acticom’s new compression scheme and protocol stack software for the Internet of Things (IoT) and industrial applications. This is the starting point for a wireless multi-hop sensor network system for industrial grade measurement and control applications towards the Tactile Internet.

The acticom compression protocol stack software for IoT provides RFC6282 (6LoWPAN) compliant compression of IPv6 and UDP header information, plus RFC7400 defined Generic Header Compression (GHC) for IPv6 over Low-Power Wireless Personal Area Networks.

While RFC6282 allows for compression of IPv6 and UDP in IEEE 802.15.4 networks (6LoWPAN-HC). The GHC adds a “more general, form of compression for headers of any kind and even for header-like payloads such as those exhibited by routing protocols, DHCP, etc.”

The acticom team will be present at the booth in Hall #7, G21, right at Germany’s Capital Berlin Pavillion. We are available for private meetings during the MWC. Please make sure to schedule your meeting in advance by filling in our contact form or by sending an e-mail to your sales representative.
